Adhesive Specialities has recently provided a highly suitable solution for high-temperature applications by introducing a new development which is known as the Aramid/Nomex® Tape made from Aramid/Nomex® Paper.
What is the Aramid/Nomex® Paper?
The Aramid/Nomex® paper is a series of insulation papers that provide high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility, and resilience. Nomex® Paper is a registered brand of Dupont.
At Adhesive Specialities, the Aramid/Nomex® Tape is coated with different types of adhesives. A special coat of fire-retardant acrylic adhesive or thermosetting rubber is applied which is processed in-house, and also can be applied as per application or requirement.
What are the specifications of The Aramid/Nomex® Tape?
- Thickness of both the variants are approximately 100microns
- Temperature resistance for the acrylic adhesive Aramid/Nomex® paper tape is approximately 130°C & for Thermosetting Rubber adhesive approximately 150°C (Applicable for 1 hour)
- Strong radium resistance
- High Abrasion and Wear Resistance
- High Chemical Resistance
- Low Thermal Shrinkage
- Formable
- Low Elongation to Break.
Where can the Aramid/Nomex® Tape be used?
The Aramid/Nomex® Tape provides an appropriate performance balance, which is suitable for transformer motors, generators, and other electrical equipment.
Since the paper is heat and flame-resistant, the Aramid/Nomex® Tape can also be used in the manufacturing of cables, electrical and electronic equipment, aerospace parts, and many more diverse applications.
Other Applications of our Aramid/Nomex® Tape include:
- Insulation for bar wound armature
- Phase and Layer Insulation
- Coil Banding and Wrapping
The tape is available in roll or die-cut form specifically tailored to our customer’s requirements. The product code for the above products is:
