Aramid/Nomex® Paper Tape
Aramid/Nomex® Paper Tape
Aramid/Nomex® Tape is coated with different types of adhesives. A special coat of fire-retardant Acrylic adhesive is applied, which is processed in-house and also a silicone adhesive can be applied as per the application or requirement.
Nomex® Paper is a series of insulation papers.
The temperature resistance for our acrylic adhesive Aramid/Nomex® paper tape is approximately 130°C & and for Thermosetting Rubber adhesive it is approximately 150°C (Applicable for 1 hour ).
Adhesive: FR Acrylic Adhesive or Thermosetting Rubber Adhesive.
More about Aramid / Nomex® Paper Tape
What is Aramid / Nomex® Paper Tape?
Adhesive Specialities manufactures Aramid/Nomex® Paper Tape using Nomex® / aramid paper — an insulation paper series known for its high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flame and heat resistances.
The paper is coated with either a fire-retardant acrylic adhesive (processed in-house) or thermosetting rubber adhesive. Depending on adhesive choice, the tape tolerates different maximum temperatures.
Uses and Properties of Aramid / Nomex® Paper Tape
- Backing by aramid / Nomex® paper.
- Coated with either fire retardant acrylic adhesive or thermosetting rubber adhesive (TSR).
- Temperature resistance:
• Acrylic adhesive version → ~130 °C.
• Thermosetting rubber version → ~150 °C (for 1 hour).
- Low elongation to break, good formability.
- Strong abrasion, wear & chemical resistance.
- Flame resistance and flame retardant adhesive meets insulation safety needs.
- Suitable for phase and layer insulation, coil banding, wrapping of bar armatures, transformers, motors.
Uses of Aramid / Nomex® Paper Tape in Various Industries
Electrical & Motor Manufacturing
Used in insulating motors, coil windings, bar armature wraps to protect against heat and maintain dielectric strength.
Transformer & Generator Industry
Used for phase insulation, layer insulation, coil wrapping, especially in high-temperature or high-stress environments.
Cable & Insulation Equipment
Used as insulation layer in cable making, or in parts needing both electrical insulation and thermal / flame protection.
Aerospace / Electrical Safety Equipment
Used where weight, flame resistance, and high dielectric performance are key—such as in protective housings, safety components.
