    More about Monofilament Tape

    What is Monofilament Tape?

Adhesive Specialities offers Monofilament Tape made from strong fiberglass (filament) reinforcement laminated with PET film, and coated with a suitable adhesive (e.g. synthetic rubber or acrylic). The filament provides exceptional tensile strength; the PET film gives dimensional stability and provides a base for adhesive.

This tape is designed for challenging applications where strength, durability, and resistance to wear, moisture, and abrasion are required. It retains integrity under tension and resists tearing or breaking in transit or in heavy-duty packaging.

Uses and Properties of Monofilament Tape

    • A tape made with continuous fiberglass yarn (filament) laminated with PET film.
    • Adhesive coated (pressure sensitive) — options like synthetic rubber or acrylic depending on strength, environment, and application.
    • Very high tensile strength — able to withstand pulling and strain without snapping.
    • Excellent resistance to wear, moisture, and abrasion.
    • Good adhesion to a variety of surfaces: metal coils, cardboard, wood, painted surfaces etc.
    • Used in applications requiring load bearing, bundling, sealing, or reinforcing.
    • Available in different widths, roll lengths; custom sizes and adhesive types supplied as per requirement.

Uses of Monofilament Tape in Various Industries

    Packaging & Logistics:

Used for reinforcing box seams, bundling heavy or awkward items, palletizing shipments so that loads stay secure during transport.

    Metals & Coils Industry:

Sealing metal coils, tabbing coils for handling, protecting edges, and keeping coils stable during storage and transit.

    Electrical / Transformer Industry:

Used in oil-filled transformers and electrical equipment to wrap windings, provide mechanical protection and insulation.

    White Goods & Furniture Industry:

Bundling tubes, bars; reinforcing loose parts; securing items during transport to avoid movement and damage.

Renewable Energy / Solar / Signage:
Used for securing components, structural reinforcement, and when high strength and durability are required.
